Position Available: Accounts Payable Specialist

R-2 Contractors is currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor payments and financial transactions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains a high level of accuracy, and demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.

Team Overview

In this role, you will report to the Controller and play a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate vendor and team member disbursements. You will also support broader finance/payroll functions and collaborate with internal teams to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities:

· Process invoices and internal payment requests, ensuring accurate coding, completeness, and proper authorization
· Research and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
· Process payments including checks and electronic fund transfers
· Set up and maintain vendor records within the Accounts Payable system
· Prepare general ledger entries and assist with month-end close
· Respond to accounts payable inquiries and provide excellent internal customer service
· Code domestic and international expense reports related to corporate credit card programs
· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
· Assist with ongoing maintenance including vendor updates, account coding, and audit support
. Payroll admin support when needed.  

Requirements:

Candidate must have strong communication and vendor relationship building skills. It is critical that candidates be able to identify and resolve tense situations. 
· 5+ years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or related field
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
· Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
. Expense management is a key element

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with CE or other expense reporting platforms
· Experience working in construction or similar industry
 

Job Type:

Full-time

Pay Range:

$32.00/hr. - $38.00/hr. (DOE)
