Build your foundation today. Grow into the leader you want to become.
Ready to turn construction experience into a career in project leadership?
At R-2 Contractors, your next role should build more than your résumé. We’re seeking a motivated Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager who wants to contribute on real projects, sharpen their skills, take ownership, and grow with a nationwide contractor delivering critical power infrastructure.
Why build your future with R-2?
  • Gain hands-on experience across utility-scale power, heavy civil, underground, and structural construction.
  • Learn alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams while contributing to daily project decisions.
  • Build skills in planning, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and project coordination.
  • Make an impact by spotting problems early, offering solutions, and following through on commitments.
  • Earn greater responsibility and opportunities for advancement as your capabilities and results grow.
Bring initiative and a solid foundation. We’ll help you grow.
You don’t need to be a fully developed Project Manager on day one. You do need construction fundamentals, organization, clear communication, and the drive to learn. We’ll teach you R-2’s systems and processes while giving you meaningful responsibilities—not just a seat on the sidelines.
What you bring
  • Construction field or project coordination experience; two or more years preferred.
  • Ability to read plans and specifications and support RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Interest in schedules, quantity tracking, materials, costs, and the details that keep projects moving.
  • A proactive, dependable approach to working with field leadership, vendors, and project teams.
  • Willingness to work on active jobsites and travel; a related degree is valued, but equivalent experience counts.
A career with room to grow
This role can be a pathway to Project Manager and broader leadership opportunities. You’ll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle and develop the judgment to take on increasingly complex work. Advancement is earned through performance, initiative, accountability, and available opportunities—not promised by tenure alone.
Our culture: PRIDE. GRIT. OWN IT!
We do what’s right, give our best, accept responsibility, and refuse to settle for mediocrity. We value hungry, humble, smart teammates who support each other, solve problems, and want to leave the company stronger than they found it.
Your next chapter starts here.
If you’re ready to put your construction knowledge to work, learn from experienced leaders, and take meaningful steps toward project management, there’s room to build your future at R-2.
Bring your drive. Build your skills. Let’s build something great together.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
