Position: Field Quality Control Representative (Heavy Civil/Renewable Energy)
Location: Nationwide (100% Travel Required) -First Project based in Wadsworth, NV
Salary: $90k - $120k DOE

R-2 Contractors is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Field Quality Control Representative to support our heavy civil, underground utility, and power infrastructure projects across the United States. This field-based position is responsible for ensuring construction activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, client requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to delivering quality workmanship while working collaboratively with Project Managers, Superintendents, field crews, inspectors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform daily field inspections to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Monitor construction activities including excavation, grading, underground utilities, concrete, foundations, and related civil work
• Document inspections, testing results, deficiencies, corrective actions, and project quality records
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients regarding quality requirements
• Verify materials, workmanship, and installations meet project specifications and applicable industry standards
• Assist with preparation and management of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and turnover packages
• Track and document non-conforming work and verify corrective actions have been completed
• Coordinate required material testing and third-party inspections
• Maintain organized project quality records, reports, photographs, and documentation
• Participate in client, regulatory, and third-party inspections and audits
• Assist with punch list development, project closeout documentation, and final quality verification
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve quality and field execution
• Work closely with field leadership to ensure quality and safety remain top priorities throughout project execution

Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Control, Construction Inspection, Field Engineering, or heavy civil construction
• Experience with heavy civil construction, underground utilities, concrete, foundations, grading, or utility-scale power projects preferred
• Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, OSHA, and other applicable construction standards
• Experience documenting inspections, testing, and quality records
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to identify quality issues and work collaboratively to resolve them
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience using electronic project documentation software is preferred
• Ability to work independently in remote field environments
• Willing and able to travel nationwide and work extended hours as project schedules require
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug screening, background check, and meet client site requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred but not required
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Certification
• ICC, NICET, or other applicable Quality Control or Inspection certifications
• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy, substations, transmission, or heavy civil infrastructure projects
• Experience working with electronic quality management systems and project management software
